Routine Maintenance for TSS XP Data

Routine Maintenance for TSS XP Data

To ensure optimal performance and data integrity, it is recommended to regularly restructure the TSS data—similar to a defragmentation process. This maintenance task should be scheduled to run nightly, or at a minimum, at the end of each week.

Regular restructuring helps:

  • Improve system responsiveness

  • Reduce data fragmentation

  • Maintain overall stability of the TSS environment

This process should only be run when nobody is in TSS.

From the server computer down to the left of the time look for an icon first that looks like an upside-down V or the tip of an arrow.

Under the ^ look for the green IN icon then double click that icon it will open a window like

from there go to tools data management and do the third choice which is Restructure TSS Data

It will ask you two questions are you sure you want to run the restructure you click yes.

Then it will ask if you want to stop the application server and you click yes to that and then it will go through and complete the process of running like the equivalent of a defragment for the TSS data.
