Moving a TSS Plus server to a new computer

Here are the steps you should follow for setting up a new server for TSS Plus on a computer

1. Run a backup of TSS on the current server

2. Copy the backup and the TSS2000 folder on your C:\ onto a portable hard drive.

3. Plug portable hard drive into the new server.

4. Go to the C:\ and create a new folder and call it TSS2000Share and paste the TSS2000 folder from the portable drive into the new share folder

5. Right click on the new TSS2000Share folder and share with everyone with full read/write permission

6. Download the following file and cut and paste it into the new TSS2000Share folder

7. Then Click on windows start icon in bottom left of screen(on Windows7) and select computer or click the folder in the task bar next to Microsoft Edge Icon(Windows 8&10). On the left you will see Network. Right click on it and select Map Drive. Select letter T for TSS then click on browse and click on the arrow to the left of the server computer from the list, click on the TSS2000Share folder and then click Finish at the bottom of the window. A new window will open, double click on the bdeinst.exe in the folder(it runs and finishes very quickly)Then double click on the TSS2000 folder and locate wkssetup.exe and double click on that and run it(You will get a message about the 64bit incompatibility, just click ok on that and wait for the wizard to finish.

8. Then locate the tss2000.exe(if file extensions are shut off look under File Type for Application File)and right click/send to/desktop. This will create a TSS shortcut on your desktop.

9. Double click on the icon and as it is starting up you should get a database engine error, just click ok on it and close the window and double click on the TSS icon again and this time it should open fine.

Each workstation can be setup by repeating steps 7-9.
